US Chess Information for SCI Girls Championship tournament.
For students in the Primary section
If you have ever played in a rated tournament, including previous SCI Girls or Individual or Team Finals, you already have a number. Go to https://new.uschess.org/player-search and search for your name. If you find a record that matches, use that number. If you don't seem to have a number already, go to https://scichessin.org/JTP.html and follow directions. Please be patient. It may take several hours before I get back to you. Do not complete your registration before I get your number to you!
For the Championship and Reserve sections
Players in the Championship and Reserve sections must have a paid US Chess membership. If you have ever played in a rated tournament, you already have a number. Go to https://new.uschess.org/player-search and search for your name. If you find a record that matches and your membership is current, you are all set. Use that number. If you find you have a number but your membership is expired, please go to the US Chess membership page and renew your membership using your current USCF number. If you do not have a USCF number, then you must go to the US Chess membership page and purchase a new USCF membership. If you have difficulties at the USCF site, an alternative is to go to the SCI US Chess membership page. I think you will find this page simpler (and $1 cheaper) than the USCF page, but you may have to wait a bit for your number. However you do it, please make sure you have a valid US Chess membership before completing your registration for Finals!
For the Discovery section
Players in the Discovery section do not need USCF numbers or memberships. In fact, if you have a USCF number you may have a USCF rating, which would make you ineligible for the Discovery section!
If at any time you run into problems, please contact me at scichessin@gmail.com.
Once you have a valid US Chess number, you may return to the entry page and finish your registration.
